Sorry, everyone -- Krispy Kreme is NOT coming to Dublin

KRISPY KREME IS one of the world’s most popular doughnut chains.
As anyone who has frequented one of their stores will tell you, it’s a magical place.
Whoops!

Seriously, its menu is what dreams are made of. (Although it would give you diabetes just looking at it.)

The chain has since expanded and now has several branches across the world, including several in the UK.
Sadly for Irish doughnut aficionados, however, you can’t get your filthy mitts on Krispy Kreme doughnuts here in Ireland.
Until now?
Earlier today, a Facebook page called Krispy Kreme Ireland announced that it was launching the first ever Krispy Kreme store in Ireland. According to the announcement, the store is to be located in St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre in Dublin.
Word spread fast and people were soon salivating at the thought of sweet, sweet dougnuts.

But is it happening?
Well there’s a few red flags.
For one thing, the page teased an opening last April and was never heard from again.
And the Facebook page directs to a website that is “not available”.
And earlier this evening, Krispy Kreme dashed all our hopes by confirming that the page was indeed fake.
And so, this remains the cold, stark reality.
“135 miles”
